ABOUT THE KWAAI TOUR - ZIMBABWE LEG

Kwaai is a global hip hop crew that started as an exchange between Sweden and South Africa in 2012. Eight of Sweden’s most interesting urban artists came to sa to record with artists like Driemanskap, Kanyi, Jr, Jack Parow, Zeus and many more. When the artists met, a creative explosion followed, resulting in the album “worldwide”. The album won the Swedish manifest-award (independent Grammy) for “rhythm of the year” in 2014 and has over 1 000 000 streams on Spotify.
This year, KWAAI is reuniting in Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa for our first tour in Africa! Partners on the tour are the Swedish Performing Arts Agency and the Swedish Institute. The purpose is to showcase KWAAI’s music in Southern Africa and to hold workshops for urban youth in rap, DJ-ing, music production and dance.
KWAAI is an exceptional live act with more than 15 artists mixing different styles and languages like Swedish, isiXhosa and English. The sound ranges from Hip Hop to dancehall, electronic beats, gospel and African music.
